Frankston Magistrates’ Court
Located approximately 41 km south-east of Melbourne’s CBD is the Frankston Magistrates’ Court. It is located on Fletcher Road, Frankston.
The civil jurisdiction encompasses civil disputes (up to $100,000) and Intervention Orders (Family Violence and Personal Safety).
The Court has power to hear summary and indictable criminal charges (its criminal jurisdiction). The Court also operates a Children’s Court on specified days.
The Frankston Magistrates’ Court is one of only several Courts to provide the ARC (Assessment and Court Referral) program. The ARC list is like the Court Integrated Support Program offered in most major Courts across Melbourne.

A condition of acceptance into the ARC program is that the accused person be diagnosed with:

An intellectual disability

An acquired brain injury

An autism spectrum disorder

A neurological impairment, including but not limited to dementia.
The purpose of an accused’s person participation in ARC is to receive therapeutic assistance for their underling mental health condition which may have contributed to criminal offending. It like the CISP program is designed to rehabilitate to reduce the risk of repeat offending.
A bail support service is also available to defendants and is referred to as the Court Integrated Services Program.
